Steve Eugene Irby 64, of Greer passed away on July 25, 2024 at Prisma Health Care System of Greer. Steve was a wonderful Man and was called Cowboy by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father Buck Gray Sr. Mother Mary Lee Turner & Step Father James Lester Irby. Steve was married to the late Lillie Dodd-Irby,  and was also preceded in death by Brothers; Arthur James Irby, Lester Jr. Irby & Roy Gray. He grew up in the Greer, SC  and loved the Oak Wood Community.  He retired from the Greenville County School System in the area of Environmental Services. He worked to ensure Children had a clean and safe environment to learn and grow.  He often loved spending time with his family joking and having a good time. Mr. Irby used colorful words at times to get his point across. He was no stranger to anyone. Steve took much joy watching his nephews play High School Football at Spartanburg High School. He also loved being out in the Community visiting friends and talking to people. If you needed something and he had it, It was yours. Mr. Irby had very giving  spirit. He was truly a people's person. If you knew anything about him, you understood he loved to dance to old school music. He met Deloris Mills at McDonald's one Day and she didn't give him her home address. Steve used his resources to find her and they became close friends that shared a lifetime of Love.

He is survived by his Siblings: Sisters-Emma Mae Irby, Margaret(June) Bivings, Lillie (Wilbur) Hames, and Dorothy Ann Irby: Half Sisters- Maddie Mae Gray, and Jimmy Ann Thomas. Brothers- Willie Lee Irby, Jimmie Lee Irby and Eugene Gray. A special niece Quay Gaston. and a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Including special friend Deloris Mills

She was currently working on writing her book as well as assembling a women’s conference called W.H.E.W (Women Handling Everyday Warfare). She truly loved the Lord and her faith.

She was proceeded in death by her paternal grand-parents Eddie & Lilly Bell Gaskin and maternal grand-parents James Clemente & Clara Mae Bobien. On August 7, 2000 a precious baby was born to Tria Sims and Antonio Grady. Aaron Grady was a quiet young man, but never met a stranger. Once he opened up to you he was the life of the party. He had a heart of gold and his smile was contagious. He loved spending time with his family that he adored and often entertained. He had a passion for music and spent many hours perfecting his craft. Aaron's journey here came to an end on June 1, 2024. He leaves to cherish many precious moments with his mother and father Tria Sims and Antonio Grady. Aaron also leaves 2 brothers, Cartier and Kamijay; 1 sister Khalenna Grady all of Spartanburg. He also leaves to cherish precious memories, maternal grandmother Elaine Woodruff, paternal grandparents Louise and Ben Grady and great grandparents Ruth and Leroy Jackson. Timmy was a force to be reckoned with on the waters, where he spent countless hours pursuing his love of fishing. His competitive nature drove him to always strive for excellence, and be known for consistently coming out on top in fishing tournaments.

Timmy was a mentor and teacher to his friends and family. He was always willing to share his knowledge and expertise. He had a kind and generous heart, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Timmy is survived by his mother Frances, his fiancée Tammy, his children Kendrick, Brandon, Ryan, and Megan, his sister Mira, and a host of grandchildren who will always cherish the memories they shared with their beloved Papa.

Michael Reginald Lewis McGee, 37, entered into eternal rest and was escorted by God’s angels to his Heavenly Home on Monday, January 29, 2024.  Michael was born on August 4,1986, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was the youngest child born to Raymond and Katie Lewis McGee in Mauldin, South Carolina.  

Michael graduated from Greenville Technical Charter High School in 2004.  An avid basketball player, he was the starting shooting guard on the varsity high school team at Greenville Tech Charter High School.  He was a Beautillion beau with Jack and Jill of America, Inc. He was also recognized in the Who's Who of American Colleges and Universities. Michael was selected for the Presidential Classroom in Washington, DC.  He was the Assist Sports II Basketball Camp NBA Foul Shot Champion during summer basketball training.  

    His love for basketball led him to play college basketball. Therefore, he played college basketball at Allen University before transferring and graduating from University of South Carolina Upstate in 2010.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sports Recreation.  His desire to be a positive role model in life led him to become

active in his community. While in college Michael served on the Campus Activity Board at USC Upstate.  He was active with the African American Association at USC Upstate and the South Carolina AHEC chapter.  

A well-known presence in the community, Michael was a mentor for the Chamber of Commerce Internship initiative.  He was a graduate of both the Greer and Spartanburg Citizens Police Academy.  He served as social media specialist for Rainbow PUSH in Greenville.  He was also active with the Urban League, Young Democrats, and a proud member of the 100 Black Men of Greenville.

 As a faithful member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in downtown Greenville, Michael was involved with the youth choir and United Methodist Youth Fellowship.  He also sang in the choir, served as acolyte, acted in plays, and played on the church basketball team.  After graduating high school, he continued to serve as a member of the Staff Parish

Relations Committee (SPRC), usher, and outreach volunteer.  

Michael worked in numerous positions, always in a place of helping people.  He served as an Upward Bound counselor and G.E.D. teacher.  He worked his way up in the automotive industry with BMW to team lead with Formula D, Trigo, and (most recently) MAU.  He was well-loved by many of his coworkers over the years. Michael was a warm and social person.  He had a great way of connecting with people and helping others whenever they were in need.  He loved being a part of the community,

networking, and attending charitable events all over the city.  He will always be remembered for his big smile and cheerful laugh.  He was a loving son, a loyal brother, and doting uncle.  Michael was the one to show up for every celebration and milestone for family and friends.  His faith was important to him, and it showed in his actions of love and service.  Words can’t

express how much we loved him; time cannot measure our short time with him.  Michael created a meaningful life, taking challenges with grace, and always rising above.  Our world was better for him.

Michael is survived by his parents, Raymond, Sr., and Katie McGee; siblings Raymond McGee, II and Adriane McGee Burgess (Craig); nephews Zach and Zander Burgess; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rob lived a life marked by resilience and kindness. Born to Rosey Bruton Sims and Author Sims in a different era he faced challenges with grace that inspired his children Gary “Buster” Austin, Marin “Moochie” Austin and Joey Austin who proceeded him in death. But he leaves three daughters Emma L. Mayfield of Greer S.C. , Tonya Irby of Greenville S.C., and Micko Mallory of Charlotte N.C. also one son Butch Sims of Greer, S.C. His work ethic at the Textile plant was unparalleled teaching a host of grandchildren nieces and nephews the value of hard work and dedication. His sisters Mrs. Ruth(Leroy) Jackson of Greenville, SC and Ms. Georgia Foster of Greer S.C was at the core of Rob’s existence along with his love for his Aunt Ms. Lillie Mae Evans of Greer and his Uncle David Cohen of Greer S.C. She was preceded in death by her sons; Arthur James Irby and Lester Irby Jr. Sisters: Arlene Duckett, Louise Robinson and Kathleen Drummond. Grandson Zabrallin Irby.

 Mary loved to cook fish, clean and walk to her favorite store on Hwy 29. She loved to tell stories to make you laugh. Never was one to bite her tongue. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Everyone knew she adored her Tube Rose Snuff and a bottle of R&R (Rich & Rare)

Mary was married to the late Lester Irby and went on to have nine Children. 

Left to Cherish her memories are her daughters; Emma Mayes Irby, Margaret (Clarence) Bivings, Lille Bell (Wilbur) Hames all of Greer, SC, Dorothy Irby of Spartanburg, SC. Sons; Willie Lee Irby of Spartanburg, SC, Steve Irby of Greer, SC and Jimmie Lee Irby of Greenville, SC. Twenty-nine grandchildren, Fifty great grandchildren and Twenty-six great great grandchildren with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held January 29th, 2024, at  Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church in Duncan Sc. Services will start at 2pm. Public viewing will be held Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at Upstate Family Funeral Services Greer Chapel from 1pm until 5pm

Burial will be at Brown Eternal Gardens located on Emler Street in Greer, SC

Three brothers, Calvin Thompson (Barbara), Dwight Gray (Shaneice) and Jimmy Gray (Casandra) all of Greenville, SC. Three aunts; Wille Ree Gray, Linda Faye Gray and Effie Mae Simpson, He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents he is survived by Step father Jerry "Pete" Carson ; brother Jerbraylin Carson. Grandparents; Lynn Bennett. Bruce Thompson, Kathleen Dandy, and Benny Meredith.  Step Grandparents Millie Valentine and Terry Carson.

Benny was a graduated of Eastside High School and a manger of Walmart Shopping Center in Taylors, SC

She is survived by three daughters; Michelle Cannon, Stacey Cannon and Tracey Cannon. She also is survived by one Sister Bessie M. Cannon of Greenville, SC. One Brother Edward Cannon of New York. Two nieces; Margie Drummond and Betty Johnson. Nephews; Michel Cannon and Donell Cannon all of Greenville, SC. Her nine Grandchildren will always cherish her memories.
